Fri, 2/15 – Killed my HIIT today & The 7 Rules of Life

My husband and I live about 2 hours apart. So after Valentine’s Day yesterday, I drove in to work this morning. All I could think about was how I was going to make up for the workouts I missed this week. Just so I don’t get behind. My Paleo diet has taken a nosedive a bit because of the special days this week. So all I could think about was how to get back on track….even though I still failed miserably today.

As I was driving my almost 2 hour drive home, I stumbled upon a great little list of life lessons, called the 7 Rules of Life, so I thought I’d share it here:

The 7 Rules of Life

  1. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
  2. What others think of you is none of your business.
  3. Time heals almost everything, so give it time.
  4. Don’t compare your life to others and don’t judge them. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
  5. Stop thinking too much, it’s alright to not know the answers. They will come to you when you least expect it.
  6. No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.
  7. Smile. You don’t own all the problems in the world. 🙂

So sweet, and it makes me feel very centered and focused. Sometimes we all feel like we’re just bumping the rumble strip all the time, instead of driving on the actual road…I think these little reminders help center us so we can stay focused on the path we’re supposed to be on. Everyone’s journey is different.

For my workout today, I did a HIIT Session at the warehouse with the same concept as Wed’s workout. 20 minutes of work, and as many rounds as possible.

Deadlifts – 80lbs
5-5-5 Pushup (fast slow fast)

Superman Planks with Knees/Elbows

30 Reps – Cardio

FOOD

I had to skip breakfast this morning, because there was nothing available at my husband’s house. I did, however, grab a cup of coffee from the gas station down the street.

For lunch I had a bibimbop from a Korean restaurant. It was mostly kimchee and pork, and very little rice. Definitely not paleo, but I didn’t have breakfast and didn’t leave the office for lunch today and someone was nice enough to pick me up some lunch, so I can’t complain. Sides, it was super good and tasty!

For dinner – this is where I failed miserably – I had washed the dishes in the sink, husband just got home, and we were not hungry. But I knew that if I didn’t eat now, I wouldn’t get to eat later (at least I’m trying to plan ahead), so I went ahead and ate FROZEN, PROCESSED, chicken gyoza….yummmm….ughh…I feel disgusting. I literally ate almost a dozen of them.

So to make up for it, we went to a BBQ place, and all we split was chicken wings. Tasty, but after 3 pieces I wanted to puke.

There’s my dinner….paleo? Not so much. I’m sorry, I’ll do better next time.
